In a recent announcement by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Jharkhand Governor CP Radhakrishnan has been named the in-charge Governor for Telangana, following the resignation of Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan. Dr Tamilisai stepped down from her role as the Governor of Telangana and the Lt Governor of Puducherry, aiming to contest in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu.
The President of India accepted Dr Tamilisai’s resignation, marking a significant shift in the governance of Telangana and Puducherry. Jharkhand Governor Radhakrishnan will also serve as the in-charge Lt Governor for Puducherry, adding to his responsibilities. This change will take effect from the day Radhakrishnan assumes office.
Expressing his gratitude on X, Jharkhand Governor Radhakrishnan thanked the Honourable President Smt Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for entrusting him with these additional responsibilities. “I am humbled and blessed to serve as the Governor of Telangana and Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry,” he stated, reflecting his commitment to serving the nation.
